Chennai Diaries - Part 1

I kept being lazy, delaying it and postponing it. The fact that I didn’t write for so long has as much to do with my lack of will, as it has to do with the circumstances. But eventually, I sit today – alone – in Chennai, and have decided to reduce the backlog of ideas, if not purge them altogether. So, here is Chennai Diaries – Part 1. As and when I got informed that I have been posted in Chennai, and I updated it on Facebook & Twitter, I realized that my friends and family were much more worried and terrified than I was. I got a lot of sympathy calls and messages –  “Oh! Chennai?? Poor guy!”  As a consequence, I came here with a lot of preconceived notions. Negative ones. Musings on Writing, Life, and Movies: A Personal Reflection

Just woke up this morning and realized that I was in the mood to write. I have ideas, I make rough notes or rough drafts at times, but it’s only when that perfect moment arrives ( flow state ) that I grab a cup of coffee, help myself with some popcorn, play some soulful songs on iTunes, and sit down to write. There’s no fixed time or pattern. Somehow, I know when it occurs. A lot has happened in the last few days of my life. Thankfully, most of it has been pleasant. Screwed up my MBA entrance exams, got placed for a job, and spent a memorable last month at college with friends. Have you ever noticed the herd of auto-rickshaw drivers who just rush in as soon as any train arrives at the railway station? It gets irritating when you return to your hometown by the 8AM train, are barely alive and there is this tornado of questions thrown at you: “Sir, auto chahiye?” “Hotel?” “Achcha hotel.
